The Trelawny Tenants Union has reached a settlement with landlord Geoffrey Rice / Apartment Mart to refund millions of dollars in overcharged rent and reduce rents at all of his properties to the price they were in 2022.
Did you, or anyone you know, rent from Geoffrey Rice or Apartment Mart between June 1, 2020 and today?
Geoffrey Rice / Apartment Mart has the most rent control violations of any landlord in Portland. After years of TTU organizing, this settlement will roll all rents back to the legally allowable price in December 2022. Anything tenants have paid above that amount since December 2022 will be refunded.
We expect almost every tenant, at every property, to get back hundreds, if not thousands of dollars
You don’t have to do or submit anything to get your refund, but we want to make sure you get it.
If you or someone you know have lived at one of these properties, we want to make sure we have up-to-date contact information and other relevant files related to your tenancy and what you paid.
Fill out the form to help us get your refund right.
